Privacy Policy

WHL PR is a public relations consultancy based in Wellington, New Zealand, operated by Wanda Lepionka. WHL PR is a trading name of G34 Ltd, a New Zealand registered company. This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. It follows the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What I collect
If you fill in the contact form, I collect your name, email address, what you’ve indicated you’re interested in, and whatever you write in your message. If you tick the newsletter box, I also record that you’ve opted in.
The website itself collects standard visitor data through Squarespace’s built-in analytics: pages viewed, approximate location, device type, and how you arrived at the site. This isn’t tied to your name and I can’t identify you from it.
Why I collect it
Contact form information is used to reply to you and, if we end up working together, to carry out that work. Newsletter opt-ins are used to send occasional updates, and nothing else.
Analytics data is used to understand which parts of the site people actually read.
Where it’s stored and who can see it
Form submissions arrive in my email and are stored in Squarespace, which hosts this website. Squarespace is a US company and data may be held on servers outside New Zealand.
The contact form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which collects some device and usage data to tell humans from bots. Google’s privacy policy covers that data.
I don’t sell your information, and I don’t share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Keeping it safe
I take reasonable steps to protect the information I hold, and the services I use do the same. No website can promise complete security, so while a breach is unlikely, it remains possible.
How long I keep it
Enquiries are kept while they’re relevant, and reviewed periodically. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see any personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email wanda@whlpr.com and I’ll respond within 20 working days. I may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that information isn’t released to the wrong person.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email.
Cookies
Squarespace uses cookies to run the site and gather analytics. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings, though some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here with a new date.
